Riverside House next to Bow Creek

Self-catering in South Devon Sleeps up to 10

Riverside House is a lovely 18th century thatched house in an idyllic, tranquil setting on the banks of the tidal River Dart.

It is an ideal place to unwind and just sit and watch the wildlife.  There are some lovely walks along the river from the house, which is on the Dart Valley Trail.  Guests are welcome to bring their own canoes, kayaks or dinghies to explore the river. The ancient town of Totnes is ten minutes away, and Dittisham, Dartmouth and Salcombe are all within a half-hour drive. Also within easy reach is the South West Coast Path and Dartmoor for walking or riding, and many splendid beaches. The National Trust properties of Greenway and Coleton Fishacre are nearby.

Tuckenhay is a tiny village, but boasts two good pubs, both of them on the river. The nearest pub, The Maltsters, is noted for its superb sea food, and there are barbecues on the quay in the summer.
